This is Grime in its purest form, combining one of the standout beats of 2016 with arguably the most exciting up and coming MC in London.
An attitude of humility and hard work has taken the 16 year old MC Young Yizzy a long way since he started rapping in January 2016. The Lewisham local now releases the 3 minute 51 single Grime Kid, produced by iconic dubstep producer Kromestar (aka. IronSoul).
Speaking on the release, Young Yizzy tells us:
“I’m a child of this genre, my generation is uniquely blessed to have had grime music since day one. Grime Kid is telling people i’m here and this is what i’m doing. It’s not about my age, it’s about the fact I was born from this genre and live in it. If Wiley is the godfather, i’m the grime kid.”
A calm, slightly reserved character contrasts against the aggressive MC style delivered on the 140BPM track, overloading listeners with fast flows, an addictive hook and heavy layers of production. This is Grime in its purest form, combining one of the standout beats of 2016 with arguably the most exciting up and coming MC in London. Raised with grime music, this marks the start of a new generation of UK MCs.
Young Yizzy has supported Abra Cadabra, Mostack, Mist, Potter Payper, Hunta, Lyrical Strally, Ets & more. He has had air time with Novelist on Rinse FM, and performances on Radar Radio, Reprezent, Mode FM, Effect Radio, Mixtape Madness, Flawless Multimedia,Bl@ck Box & more.
We are seeing Young Yizzy leading the way for emerging rap in London, proving time and time again he is going to be one of 2017’s most prolific breakthrough talents.
